We offer a variety of classes for adults of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced.

Beginner

Our classes are designed for adults who haven’t done gymnastics before. The coaches will help you focus on skill basics, strength and technique. You’ll learn in a safe and supportive environment with others who are also new to gymnastics..

Intermediate

Intermediate level is when you have experience with gymnastics or have been training at the studio for one year or more.
You can balance your handstand freestanding for 10 seconds, pull ups and dips have been mastered and you are working to more advanced elements like muscle ups and levers.

Advanced

Advanced students have been training for 1-3 years and train 4-6 hours per week. A significant investment has been made into flexibility positions to open up opportunities for difficult skills. They are focussing on press handstands,
ring routines and backflips.

No matter which level you choose, our classes are designed to be challenging and fun. You'll learn in a supportive environment with other adults who share your passion for gymnastics. We also offer private lessons for those who want more personalized instruction. Private lessons are a great way to work on specific skills or to get one-on-one attention from a coach. I was looking to improve my flexibility, learn proper handstands and use my body in a functional way but being on the wrong side of 30 - I thought these were pretty unlikely goals. However, Ev, Kat and the team were so welcoming, helpful and inspiring. Over the last five years they've really helped me to transform my understanding of my limits and achieve things I never would've thought possible.

The classes are accessible and cater to all skill levels, so whether you want to learn a skill, add new movements to your existing workouts or do personal training, you'll find something that works for you. Compared to my traditional training, I find that the community spirit and genuine interest in who you are is a breath of fresh air.

Adult gymnastic classes typically cover a range of skills, which can be broken up by appartus.

On floor you will learn handstand balancing, handstand push up and stalder press.

Flexibility covers front splits, middle splits, pancake, pike and back bridge.

The classes also include strength and conditioning exercises like hollow holds, leg raise, pull ups, dips, dragon flags, squats and deadlifts.

  • Can I take adult gymnastic classes if I have a pre-existing injury?

It depends on the specific injury and its severity. Before enrolling in any gymnastic program, it is recommended that you consult with your healthcare provider to ensure that you have clearance before starting. In some cases starting with personal training is a better option to ensure the sessions can be fully catered to around a specific injury.

  • Is it possible to become flexible as an adult?

Yes it is possible to improve range of motion and increase flexibility as an adult. However, it does require a specific and structured approach. It will not happen by simply stretching or foam rolling for a few minutes at the end of a workout.

First you need to test your baseline, which means your starting point. Next you need to identify which areas and muscle groups lack range and which lack strength. From there you can implement a specific and targeted approach towards your flexibility goals.

  • What is end range strength?

End range strength refers to building strength when in the area where the joint is at it's end range of motion. For example in a front split, the hamstring of the front leg is lengthened and needs to be strengthened in that position. The hip flexor of the front leg is shortened and needs to be strengthened in that position.

Any range that we can access with our body, should be strengthened so that when going into that position in the context of sport, the body can function well and tolerate load in those positions.

  • What is the duration of an average adult gymnastic class?

The duration of adult gymnastic classes may vary depending on the program, but they typically last around 60 to 90 minutes.

  • Can I attend adult gymnastic classes on a drop-in basis?

No. Adult gymnastics at Dalecki Strength is conducted as a long term program with progression. This allows us to ensure all the progressions are completed in the correct order and to minize risks associated with gymnastics training.

  • Are there competitions in adult gymnastics?

At Dalecki Strength Gymnastics, we train for health and life. We are not part of any sanctioned competitions. A few times per year, we hold grading nights which are planned events that allow you to test out your benchmarks only against yourself.  The tests are focussed on strength, flexibility, handstand and plyometrics. They are designed so that you can focus on improvements against yourself.
